‘Virginia’ Bar Cart Styling

Keep the drama flowing in home decorating!

Real life is reflected in the reels of the movie industry. From All About Eve (1950) to Mad Men (2007 and still running), the resurgence of cocktail hour convenience has trailed successfully. With that popularity came the drink trolley!

Bar Cart Queen. A steady stream of Martinis and Champagne were essential props for Bette Davis’ character Margo Channing in the movie ‘All About Eve’.

Cocktail hour Hollywood-style, like Mae West in 1937’s ‘Every Day’s A Holiday’. Photo by Paramount.

The 1970s reinvention of the parlour (or parlor or sitting room, wine room, drinking room) into a built-in bar gave happy hour a whole new look. But of course, that era and ours required things to be more practical and space saving, thus the compact, multi-purpose and practical… (drum roll)— or another term… bar cart.

Mad about bar carts. ‘Mad Men’

Cocktail hour at home is gone (and your liver is grateful – haha!) and has become entertaining hour. Just like the new spin of products from home entertainment brands like icon Martha Stewart, whimsical Kate Spade, and now the list includes the likes of Marc Jacobs and even Justin Timberlake, for sure the 50s entertainment glam is back! And at Maison Epperson, we have a one-word requirement for these things = versatile.

Presenting the ‘Virginia’ Bar Cart that I designed as part of my Rise & Shine Collection for The Ramp Crossings:

The ‘Virginia’ Bar Cart from my collection is an homage to my mom. She is the best hostess in my book. She hardly entertains friends but always goes all out for family!

How to style the ‘Virginia” Bar Cart, 7 Ways:

1. As a bar cart

Cocktail hour made easy and fun!

Tip: Add my ‘Zelda” zebra tray on top of the ‘Virginia’ Bar Cart

2. As a movable console table

It’s all about grand entrances!

Tip: Welcome your guests with a personalized foyer

3. As a side table for the living room

Double duty: Side table + Tea trolley = Perfect for small spaces!

4. As a tea trolley or coffee cart

Tea time or coffee break is always special when served in a trolley.

5. As bedside table

Organize your bedside reading materials and other paraphernalia using the ‘Virginia’ Bar Cart.

Tip: My daughter Aryanna uses it as a bedside table, a vanity trolley and a music station — everything a teenager could need!

6. As a rolling bookcase

Use it as a glorious bookcase!

Tip: Shoes make playful book ends

7. As a food cart

Roll out a feast of delectable meals with ease!

Tip: For small spaces or limited dining area, the food trolley becomes an extension of your dining table. Great for serving brunch or buffets!

Life is party! Celebrate in style with the ultimate hostess’ drink and food trolley! The ‘Virginia’ is your starter bar cart. It’s compact, stylish and multifunctional. I designed it in a way that it can be moved anywhere in the house or office that it’s needed. Use it as a tea trolley by day and a cocktail cart by night. Decorate and organize your space by using it as a chic side table for the living room, bedroom and even your office. Entertaining and organizing is a piece of cake with this fun and functional bar cart.

Borrowing the words of one of the most creative people ever, Albert Einstein, “Creativity is contagious. Pass it on.” Go stylin’!

  1. haven’t really recovered from flu, but had to go to Glorietta from BF just to get your Gold Virginia cart! I also bought two sets of coasters – the orange and the black one! It would be such a regret not to have your cart! So excited to dress it up after we transfer to our new home 🙂
