Have blog, will travel.

First of all, I would like to thank Avon, Philippines for inviting my blog to an exclusive press tour!

I received this cool accordion-like invite from Avon a month ago:

Destination: Shanghai, China… Woohoo!

I’m Leaving on a Jet Plane

I was up before the crack of dawn to go to the airport. Thanks to the efficient and super organized Ogilvy team, I got to NAIA on time and checking in was a breeze. I appreciate this kind of arrangement especially since I only had 4 hours of sleep. Zzz…

Thoughtful gestures: Team Avon welcomed everyone with fortune cookies and luggage tags with all the vital info on the back. Sweet!

 The fashion:

I don’t usually post the brands of clothes I wear, but I always get tweets on where I bought my clothes and accessories para wala ng kulitan, eto na mga kapatid:

Jil Sander x Uniqlo trench coat (with detachable quilted lining) + Zara oversized sweater + Franco Sarto boots + Dior sunglasses + Swarovski crystal rings + Kate Spade tote + Delsey "Karat" suitcase + Orly "Jealous Much?" nail polish

Touchdown, Shanghai!

The crew:

Avon team + Newspaper, magazine, and online magazine editors/writers + One blogger

Clockwise: Team Philippines arrived at Pudong International Airport; Personalized luggage tag courtesy of Avon; (L) Avon Philippines Head for PR and Communications Faith Fernandez- Aranton and Avon Southeast Asia Cluster Category Head for Skincare Carla Enage-Cruz

This is how we roll:

Taking the limo service from the Pudong International Airport to our hotel would have taken an hour and a half to get there. It was faster to ride the Shanghai Maglev (magnetic levitation) Train or Shanghai Transrapid which is also conveniently located inside the airport. According to our guide, it’s the fastest train in Asia! It only took 8 minutes from the airport to Xintiandi! Winner!

The Maglev Train can reach 350 kph (220 mph) in two minutes, and is designed for normal operation with a maximum speed of 431 kph (268 mph). Ang bilis! Walang pagkakataong makaidlip.

We arrived at Xintiandi in a blink of an eye. What an experience! I lav et!

Home sweet home (for the next couple of day at least): Andaz Hotel

Andaz is Hyatt’s new collection of contemporary, boutique-inspired hotels.

The first Andaz in Asia is located in Xintiandi—a landmark entertainment area in the heart of downtown Shanghai, internationally acclaimed for its restored Shikumen architecture housing stylish restaurants, bars, and boutiques. Andaz Shanghai is a short walk to the Metro and the prestigious Huai Hai Zhong Road, one of Shanghai’s premier shopping areas.

The newly constructed 28-storey hotel features 307 spacious guest rooms measuring 41 square metres, including 47 premium rooms and suites ranging from 80–409 square metres, all with vibrant views over Shanghai.
