It was one of those amazing mornings when the Philux truck pulled into our garage bearing chic furniture. It felt like Santa was delivering presents to those who’ve been nice all year-round!
With all the home renovation headaches that Tom and I experienced in the past year, this is the moment when we get to relax and just enjoy decorating our home.
Philux, a homegrown brand
When my husband Tom first arrived in the Philippines in the late 80’s, he got himself a bachelor’s pad at Galeria de Magallanes in Magallanes Village. It was bare when he moved in so he needed furniture. Tom met Philux founders Max and Zelda Kienle through a common friend and they helped my husband furnish his space. According to Tom, he was impressed with the design and quality of their furniture.
Committed to offering the best in timeless design, Philux brings 35 years of experience in manufacturing premium furniture products at an optimum value.
Philux, Inc. proudly sets itself apart by employing highly skilled Filipino workers who preserve age-old craftsmanship and combine it with innovative wood techniques, enabling them to expand their industry of classic pieces with contemporary designs that include solid wood, veneers, upholstery, and metal work.
Today, Philux, inspired by a design philosophy that integrates minimalist functionality with history and heritage, has evolved from manufacturing and retail to modern home solutions.
New Scandiniana collection
Scandinavia and Filipiniana. Two words, two cultures intertwined in the creation of Philux’ newest line.
In the 1950s, Northern Europe, more specifically the Scandinavian countries of Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway, saw a movement that bespoke simplicity, minimalism, and functionality in design. This design philosophy is what the world has come to love about Scandinavian design to date.
Combine this with Filipiniana, the heart and soul of Filipino art, history and literature.
When Philux, Inc. and Maison Epperson meet, magic happens!
In collaboration with Philux, Inc., I re-styled our great room using some of our existing furniture mixed in with their latest Scandiniana collection.
Our great room has vintage jalousie windows that envelope the entire space. The Valencia Bench is backless, so its form doesn’t visually fragment the space. It’s also a great space-saving solution for condos.
The skinny legs of the tables and lounger make a chic area to entertain guests.
Remember these leaf-print Pouf Ottomans? I bought them at the Philux showroom in Powerplant Mall, Rockwell last summer! These poufs are my favorite!
The Stockholm Side Tables are versatile for houses and condos. You can bunch all three nesting tables or split them up.
Welcome to our foyer! I love the contrast of the vintage wood panel and antique brass wall sconces with the modern Copen Console Table (with glass top).
Lovely hand-cut wood in herringbone pattern. You can choose other wood finishes and Premium Wood for this Copen Console Table.
Dining in style with these Embla Dining Chairs. This is one of Philux’s best-selling furniture. They are masterfully crafted to make each dining experience comfy and stylish at the same time.
I’m sure you’ve noticed that I’ve been blogging about family room inspos and my wishlist. Part of that list is something green, velvet and also I dream of a trunk as coffee table.
OMG. OMG. I am over the moon with these particular pieces from Philux:
Pouf Ottoman – Yes, this is our second pair of poufs but this time, I provided my own material. What I super love about these poufs is that they are sturdy ottomans with solid wood frame and based. They are heavy but the curvy silhouette makes them look sexy!
Sutter Chest Coffee Table – Another best-selling piece of Philux. This coffee table doubles as an elegant storage and made from beautiful acacia (more wood finish and Premium Wood choices available). Perfect for condo or small space living too.
Check out our updated family room!!! Before, we only had our old sectional sofa, chabudai-style metal coffee table and the vintage wooden console floating in the space. With the addition of the new Philux Sutter Chest Coffee Table, Ottoman Poufs and Stockholm Low Bar Stool (used as a side table) the space is shaping up in becoming our dream room!
This collaboration wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the talented Steph Kienle-Gonzalez, marketing manager and her sister Jess, head of design and visual merchandising of Philux, Inc. Thank you, ladies!
