“Me” Time at Boracay Tropics

I believe that taking time for yourself is not an indulgence. It’s a necessity and a great way to deal with stress. Anyone can get stressed. Absolutely anybody, anytime. When I begin to feel overwhelmed or burnt out, I take a timeout, step back and take a moment for myself. I give my mind and body a break and time to re-energize.

To de-stress, once a week, I spend time away from family and work for at least 1-3 hours. Sometimes, I eat lunch by myself or have coffee or a facial or just go around the mall and window shop. It’s rejuvenating and fun! I love my own company.

There are also times when I go on trips alone to get inspired and to focus. Taking care of the day-to-day needs of my family and responsibilities at work can sometimes distract me from being creative. A quick sojourn to the beach always does the trick. Nature brings me peace and serenity.

This year, my friend Celi Sarabia invited me to her resort Best Western Boracay Tropics. I was excited!

Take me to the beach

I left Manila at the crack of dawn as I wanted to maximize my day in paradise.

When I arrived at Caticlan, I was greeted by one of Boracay Tropics’ friendly staff. He took care of my luggage and boat ride to get to Boracay. There was also a van that took me straight to the resort.

Welcome to Best Western Boracay Tropics! It’s an oasis in the busy Boracay beach!

Allow me to give you a tour of this beautiful resort.

Not all bahay-kubo’s are created equal. This was home for four days.

I stayed in the Junior Cabana, situated above the Premier Suites.

Cozy and intimate, the Junior Cabana is great for couples who are visiting Boracay for a weekend getaway or for honeymooning; the Junior Cabana accommodations comes with complete basic amenities that are great for newlyweds. The rooms have cable-ready TV, a mini-bar, and a toilet and bath equipped with a hot and cold shower. There’s also free Wifi.

The room is cozy, spacious and comfortable. I also love the closet space and full-length mirror!

My cabana has a balcony area with a lovely hammock that has a sight of the verdant garden and the resort’s bean shaped pool.

This was my muni-muni area! LOL

Below my suite is Boracay Tropics’ Premiere Suite. It’s the biggest accommodation the resort has to offer with two spacious bedrooms and a dining area that can seat 6 people. It also has its own receiving area that is perfect for entertaining new friends or for relaxing indoors. The comfy veranda faces the pool side that gives you a great view of the landscape that surrounds the pool.

Aside from the cozy receiving area and patio space, the suite comes complete with basic amenities such as cable-ready TV, a clean and fully functional bathroom, and a mini-bar.

Check out Boracay Tropics’ sprawling property! It’s like a small village situated in the heart of Boracay.

I have to say that for a 7-year old resort, Boracay Tropics is well-maintained and still beautiful! The whole resort is clean with a manicured garden to boot!

Shall we dine?

When on vacation, eating is my sport, haha!

I love dining al fresco when at the beach!

The grotto area is the best place to unwind and meditate.

Boracay Tropics’ amenities include a spa, a mani/pedi salon and a day care area for families with kids.

It only takes three minutes by foot to get to the main beach.

“Me” time musts:

Coffee and cupcake break as often as I want

Reading with a view of the pool and lush garden are some of life’s simple pleasures.

Hammock time!

The art of doing nothing is everything!
