How I Celebrated Mother’s Day

The month of May is extra special for my family as we celebrate numerous occasions: Mother’s Day, our wedding anniversary and Tom’s birthday all on the same week!

Here’s how everything panned out beautifully:

6am: I woke up to this

The Epperson’s Blackboard. My husband wrote this in our DIY blackboard in the kitchen. So sweet!

My very first handmade card written by my 5-year old son son Dylan. I will cherish this forever.

8am: Breakfast fit for a Queen, haha

For as long as I can remember, bacon, garlic rice and banana catsup have been my favorite brekkie!

My daughter Aryanna planned a whole day treat for me as her Mother’s Day gift.

11am: Mom & daughter bonding time at Maison By Nail Spa

I super love this place! The interior is both stylish and cozy and the mani/pedi service is top-notch. Aryanna and I felt very relaxed and pampered. Big shoutout to my Mads, Pauline Juan!

Cabana & cuticles. Our favorite spot at Maison By Nail Spa

1:00pm: The folks at Bun Appetit sent me the best lobster, shrimps, crab meat rolls and grilled Cuban corn for Mother’s Day. Special thanks to Lawrence for giving me a day-off from cooking!

Aryanna and I packed two lobster rolls for lunch and had coffee in Espressamente Illy, Powerplant Mall in Rockwell.

2:30pm: Aryanna booked a Mother’s Day teatime at the The Peninsula Manila. She told me that she booked it a few weeks in advance. So sweet! This was our first time to have tea in this hotel so it was extra special.

Since Mother’s Day this year fell on the same day as Tom’s and my wedding anniversary, my husband had only the night time to plan for something special.

8pm: Surprise dinner at Blackbird

I ordered my favorite Scotch Quail Eggs and a glass of bubbly

That night was all about big surprises and big love from Tom. I consider myself the luckiest girl. Happy 20th anniversary, hun! Here’s to 20 more years of bliss!

I had an eventful day last Sunday to say the least. My family always steps up to make me feel extra special. What I love most about their gestures is that they think of what I like doing. They were thoughtful and showed me how grateful they are for all the nurturing and love I give them. I’m so touched.

Life is really like a two-way street and I firmly believe that you reap what you sow. Investing time and loving your family proves to be the most rewarding feeling.
