Fragrances You Need To Pay Attention To This Summer

Summer brings challenges for perfume lovers. A poor choice of fragrance can literally choke one to death during hot days haha!

Avoid buying perfumes and colognes that become chemical weapons in a heat wave. Here are some of my suggestions:

Jo Malone Blossoms – Let’s start with the super cute packaging! I’ve said it before Jo Malone is killing the packaging game! Now, on to the fragrance. I got the Sakura Cherry Blossom and what I like about this limited edition cologne is that it is mild and delicate. On me, the scent is sweet but floral, without being overwhelming at all. I’ve never smelled anything quite like it. I so love it!  I hope they make this permanent in their collection.

My daughter Aryanna got the Plum Blossom Cologne, find out her take on it here.

Clean Reserve in Sel Santal & Citron Fig – The Clean brand is one of the fragrances that I’ve been using for almost 10 years! I love the simplicity yet luxurious smell of their bottled concoctions. My all-time favorites are the Clean Original (for that just-out-of-the-shower fresh smell) and the Clean Warm Cotton (for that just-out-of-the-dryer freshness scent).

I recently tried their new Clean Reserve line which are vegan and sustainable fragrances. They have tapped on their perfumers’ reserve of raw ingredients and packaged in unique oak cap features and, in-keeping with the brand’s environmentally-friendly message, is made using certified wood from sustainably managed forests.

Citron Fig – A crisp fragrance that reminds me of the Amalfi Coast and it’s fresh lemons! It has a warm fig smell with zesty ginger tones. Great for after shower spritzing.

Sel Santal – Between the two, this is my fave! It has a sandalwood base where amber, styrax, and musk complete the Oriental base accord.

Both have that signature Clean fresh floral and fruity scents without smelling like a wannabe teenager. Best part? Clean Reserve is unisex!

Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Teazzurra – Three words to describe this fragrance: Relaxing, refreshing, unique

The main ingredients of this eau de parfum are bergamot, jasmine, green tea accord. Since I’m biased to anything green tea this TEAzurra is definitely worth having a whiff. The moment I spritz on the fragrance I loved it! It has the freshness of a cologne and the hold of a Guerlain perfume.

Tom Ford Jasmine Rouge – First of all, let’s just embrace the fact that Tom Ford perfumes are not mild. That being said, spraying on this eau de parfum should be done sparingly. Also, I’m not going to describe the scent of Jasmine Rouge eau de parfum instead let me tell you how I feel whenever I wear it: I feel like a woman from a bygone era, perfectly manicured hands, applying my powder in my dressing room in the same fastidious fashion in which I live my life. I look in the mirror while I spray this on my neck. I feel totally female and foxy. Rawr.  (Available in Adora this June)

Which of these fragrances would you like to try?
