Countdown to 2012

I want to ring in the new year stress-free. As early as now, I want to get everything done.

Ang mahiwagang “List”:

Here are some of my grandparents’ New Year rituals that I observe (before the clock strikes midnight) to ensure that the new year being welcomed is a prosperous one:

• General cleaning before the new year. According to my grandparents, “don’t clean anything before the strike of midnight! You might sweep away the good fortune that came in on New Year’s Eve.” Meaning, gawin mo na lahat bago magputukan!

• I don’t spend money on New Year’s day. Again, my grandparents believe that frugality on the first day sets the tone for wise money management in the coming year. Translayshun: Bayaran lahat ng utang bago magbisperas ng Bagong Taon!

Are you ready for 2012?

I’m excited!

Shopingero/shopingera, what’s on your to-do list?
