Every year, my best friend Tim and I think of a word that will anchor us for the rest of the year: one word that will inspire and motivate us. The last time I spoke to Tim, he was still contemplating on what his word for the year is going to be. He is currently at the beach for his annual “muni-muni” (I’m also going to the beach soon, Timmie! #Alamona) and I’m sure he will be ready to conquer 2015 when he gets back.
As for me, it took some time to find my word for the year. It came to me during New Year’s eve. It was the first time we celebrated the new year in the new Maison Epperson and as I lit one of the fountain sparklers, I felt a spark of positive energy run through my entire body. It’s hard to explain but I believe I have a strong third eye. Being a mom, I’m attuned to my instincts and that night, I felt extremely happy, positive and energized. The word “spark” also came to mind.
It was also around November when I was blogging a new category in my blog that I felt a renewed energy. To be honest, over the last two years, I felt bored and unmotivated (yes, sa dami-dami ng nagawa ko last year, bored pa ako ng lagay na yan! LOL). This year, I felt the passion back! Oh, how I’ve missed that feeling. YES!!! Something sparked that day while I was writing and everything fell into place. It was serendipity.
With so many positive events that has occurred to me in 2014, I believe that only amazing things can happen this new year. I’m so excited!
Here are some of my favorite quotes that may also help spark hope, kindness, inspiration and love for 2015:
“From my point of view, God is the light that illuminates the darkness, even if it does not dissolve it, and a spark of divine light is within each of us.” – Pope Francis
“A mighty flame followeth a tiny spark.” – Dante Alighieri
“There is in every woman’s heart a spark of heavenly fire which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity, but which kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity.” – Washington Irving
“I saw as a teacher how, if you take that spark of learning that those children have, and you ignite it, you can take a child from any background to a lifetime of creativity and accomplishment.” – Paul Wellstone
“Computers are magnificent tools for the realization of our dreams, but no machine can replace the human spark of spirit, compassion, love, and understanding.” – Louis V. Gerstner, Jr.
“If you have anything really valuable to contribute to the world it will come through the expression of your own personality, that single spark of divinity that sets you off and makes you different from every other living creature.” – Bruce Barton
“When I get home, I’m not the boss like I am at work – I slip into a more feminine role. I take everything off and put on my Stella McCartney silk robe. I’ll put on a red lip or red nails, and it lifts my mood. Sexy underwear also gives you a spark.” – Miranda Kerr
