What is argan oil?
Argan oil is an oil produced from the kernels of the argan tree, endemic to Morocco, that is valued for its nutritive, cosmetic and numerous medicinal properties. Made from the nuts of the argan tree, which grows almost exclusively in Morocco.
Why is it called the “Wonder Oil”?
The oil is said to have restorative and age-defying effects. It is high in vitamin E and essential fatty acids, it is believed to help all sorts of skin conditions: dry skin, acne, psoriasis, eczema, wrinkles. It also leaves your hair with a natural, silky finish and brilliant shine without any residue. This formula not only protects your hair from damage caused by drying or over-processing, it also helps restore over-processed and damaged hair to its natural, beautiful condition.
Did you know? It is Berber women who are solely responsible for harvesting the nuts and producing the oil, and they are doing so in fair trade working cooperatives. Outside groups, like the government of Monaco, are also financially backing a system whereby women can work half days (so they can still tend to their families) in exchange for fair wages and good working conditions. This has allowed an income for women and families where before there was little. The cooperatives have initiated an ecosystem reforestation project to help preserve the argan forest.
The cooperatives are working in partnership with the Moroccan Water and Forests Authorities to allow optimal tree growth, plant argan nurseries, and create education programs. The community realizes the value of the argan tree and they are involved with its protection. In fact, Unesco has designated the 10,000-square-mile argan-growing region as a biosphere reserve. I have just read an article about the “Wonder Oil” online and lo and behold, I found the oil at The Beauty Source, Rustan’s!
I use Morocco Argan Oil as an after-shower hair conditioner. A small dab of the oil is enough to keep my hair moisturized and in place the whole day! It’s nature’s best so it’s perfect for all hair types. I also gave a bottle to my daughter Aryanna. According to her, she likes that it keeps her hair frizz-free.
The argan oil has a rich texture but not oily at all! The scent of argan oil is also intoxicating! You must try this! Very, very, ka-age lang ang peg!

it’s me again! how much is the Wonder Oil,please…
Hi Jenni,
A friend of a friend bought 1 at Mercato Centrale a couple of Saturdays ago. We were given a sample of it and yes! it’s true that the oil isn’t oily at all. I used it as a face moisturizer. Just a dab of it, spread spread spread & my whole face was moisturized already. Hehehe.
Yah..I’ve the same question as Lisette. May we know how much you bought it at Rustan’s? After my research, it seems as if buying it at Rustan’s is the wiser decision. The mall’s also more accessible & more convenient.
I love your new blog. ♥ So classy. =)
Thank you,
Tricia =)

Hi!
Argan Oil is quite the prize? Just funny how you actually get to the oil. Never looked a goat the same way after we got back from Morocco 😀
Wonder what kind of Pinoy dishes you can adapt to the oil 🙂
Love the new layout of your blog!
God bless!
was given a sample at Rustan’s Makati tried it soon after at bedtime. woke up with a very smooth skin.have a 14 year old son suffering from minor breakouts on his forehead i had him try it too and amazingly the bumps dried out, argan oil is way better than any chemical preps we tried!Just bought the full bottle ( 2 for 2495 )before stocks run out.
Thanks for the post Jenni. I would also like to add that Argan oil could be used for acneic skin. The Vitamin E, fatty acids and other minerals found in the oil nourishes the skin, thus preventing dark spots. Also, the oil moisturizes the skin thus preventing further irritation and inflammation to dryness.
Hi Ms. Jenni!
I’m on the search for the best argan oil here in the Philippines. I have a naturally curly hair, so Argan Oil has been my best friend since I got introduced to it by a friend. I already tried Healthy Option’s Argan Oil (Php 900). It has been very effective to my hair and skin. Now I had 2 bottles emptied, I’m on the search for another brand which I can compare it with.
Have you tried other argan oils? Will you recommend this brand? 🙂
