What’s Hot: Bespoke Belts By Hindy Weber

With so many fast fashion brands sprouting in the market, bespoke pieces have become more elusive. I’m more keen and always on the lookout for slow designs.

Slow design is a new concept within sustainable design which aim is to promote slowing down the metabolism of people and resources, and at the same time creating positive behavior change.

In the fashion forefront of slow design is my designer friend, Hindy Weber-Tantoco. Hindy doesn’t need any introduction but in case you’ve been under a rock, she is a fashion designer, model, muse, mother, wife and the owner/manager of Holy Carabao Holistic Farm (www.holycarabao.com). She is a Granola Glam Girl who has kicked off her high heels and strapped on her Hunter rubber boots to embrace the chic countryside life. I want your life, Hindyyyy!

Hindy has been on hiatus from the fashion scene for some time but has been busy nurturing and looking after her growing family and farm. Immediately after seeing her IG photos of her belts, I just had to text her:

Me: I need your belt in my life. How to order? What made you venture into bespoke belts?

Hindy: I went into it because during my maternity leave, I got bored and missed fashion, so I began sketching and thankfully, I met a carver who understood my vision. It’s one thing to have an idea but very difficult to execute with limited resources. The guy was not afraid of new ideas. But there are really some artists beyond his expertise so I myself have to adjust. These belts are also a throwback to my days at Culte Femme. Many of my former clients would ask me where they can get a similar belt because they want to add to their collection. So I made new designs and new treatments.

We missed you, Hindy!

I am happy to announce that this devoted mother of four and a loving wife to Gippy Tantoco is now designing hand-carved wonders for her clients.

Bespoke Belts By Hindy Weber

Hand-carved by local artisans using traditional techniques with no mold or resin making each one a story of its own.

The buckles are made from sturdy, sustainable wood shaped to fit the curve of the body; with designs that can go from day to night.

The handmade finishes allow the raw beauty of the wood to peer through. You can choose your own finish: Ebony, Natural, Red Laquer, Emerald, Antique Ivory, Antique Gold, Mahogany

Choose your buckle (clockwise): Nike, Plume, Trinidad, Nightingale, Maidenhair

Interchangeable sashes in luxurious fabrics.

Two sashes come with every buckle (you can order extra). It’s 90″ in length; but maybe shortened (additional fee). Genuine leather sashes are also available. Clockwise: Natural Linen, Gold Brocade, Black Brocade, Orchid Charmeuse, Grey Shantung, Champagne Taffeta

My personal H.W. belt is the Rosario in Antique Gold finish with a Natural Linen sash. Aryanna and I both love this combo!

Mix & match buckles and sashes

Nike buckle with Gold Brocade sash is another winning duo!

The Nightingale wooden buckle in Ebony is a stunner! I want this too, maybe in Red Laquer finish with Black Brocade sash.
