Valentine’s Day Gift Idea: A Romantic Catered Dinner

My husband Tom surprised me with a rooftop dinner for two in our building last Valentine’s Day. It was the most romantic gestures ever! I’m being honest here, I had no clue he was going to surprise me. I thought he just booked a dinner for two at some restaurant. Turned out, he had planned something extra special.

His accomplice to pull-off the surprise was my friend Ferdi Salvador of TEA. They set-up a lovely dinner setting with a personal chef to boot! You can read about our Roof Deck Romance here.

This candid photo was taken by our daughter Aryanna. I’m so thankful my daughter captured our romantic night on the roof top of our building. It was truly an unforgettable moment.

Behind the scenes of Madeleine is Chef Farah Tolentino-Ylagan, who lived in Paris for 6 years, taking up Hotel and Restaurant Management at the Centre Européen de Management Hôtelier International where she graduated at the top of her class. Farah discovered her passion for cooking at a young age and received her formal culinary education at Ecole Supérieure de Cuisine Francaise-Ecole Ferrandi after which she obtained her state certifications- The Brevet D’Etudes (Restoration) and the Certificat d’ Aptitude Professionnelle (Cuisine). She has worked in numerous restaurants in Europe, most notably a Ledoyen- one of Paris’ most renowned gastronomic palaces.

Her specialization is bespoke, luxury, fine dining for small groups. Madeleine is her alter-ego with a penchant for more laid back, authentic French home cooking.

Partnered with event stylists Czarina Ledesma and Ferdinand Salvador of TEA, Madeleine’s functions promise to be fresh, contemporary and extraordinary.
