Traveling with Hideo Wakamatsu

Traveling these days can sometimes be stressful because of ground and air traffic, the “tanim-bala” fiasco, and the horror of excess baggage fees or worse lost luggage.

There are ways to reduce the hassle specially when it comes to packing and the choice of luggage.

Choose light

To avoid heavy-lifting of luggage and excess baggage fees, choose suitcases that are made from lightweight and good quality materials.

I recently traveled to Hong Kong and luggage weight and space were priority. I brought my Hideo Wakamatsu Jelly Bean Carry-On and Suitcase (in “Electric Blue”) to ensure that I have enough space for my shopping haul but light enough to maneuver in the airport.

Tip: While you check in, everyone else will be checking out your luggage. The four-wheeled Jelly Bean Check-In Trolley brightens even the drabbest airport concourse with its vivid color scheme, rounded dimples and sleek, ultra-modern style. The luggage is lightweight and easy to maneuver.

Features:
• case is constructed from a super-light high-performance alloy of ABS and polycarbonate
• four 360-degree swivel silent wheels
• interior lining in sky blue
• zipper type closure with TSA surface-mounted locks
• check-in suitcase dimensions: 23″ x 17″ x 10″; carry-on dimensions: 21.75″ x 14″ x 8.75″
• check-in suitcase weight: 9 lbs; carry-on weight: 6.5 lbs

Go hands-free!

I usually travel with my laptop. I’m done using totes and laptop sling bags when traveling as they are a pain to lug around. Using a backpack is the way to go. When I traveled to Guangzhou China last week, I used my Hideo Wakamatsu Randoseru. It’s lightweight and stylish (I love the boxy shape!) plus, hands-free convenience.

The name “randoseru” is adapted from the Dutch word “ransel” which means backpack. These ubiquitous bags are an iconic part of the Japanese elementary school experience. Kids start using a randoseru at age 6 – the first year of elementary school – and are expected to use the same bag through sixth grade. They are made to last!

Awareness of randoseru is also rising among adults and other fashionable celebrities and personalities (you’ll see them all over Facebook, style blogs and fashion websites). The chic design appeals to the stylish urban set because of it’s design and practicality. It’s spacious (it fits my 13″ laptop) and super duper light! It also comes in a variety of colors.

You’ll love:

• The one-touch lock of the backpack is located at the bottom of the bag making it difficult for pickpocketers to get to.
• The straps have a mechanism that allow them to swivel for ease and convenience
• It’s very light to carry! The Hideo Wakamatsu Randoseru is strategically made from synthetic fabric and plastic hardware to keep it light for kids and travelers too.
• It’s roomy! Heavy travelers and parents will love the size of the compartment.
