The Pursuit Of Happiness

We all want to live a happy, healthy, and successful life.

Sometimes it takes time for our dreams to be realized because other events need to fall in place in order for the optimum conditions for our dream to really blossom. There may even be skills we need to develop. Often there are changes that need to occur within us, as old mindsets fall away, to make place for the new ones that match our new vision. Sometimes there are people we need to meet who are not yet ready to meet us because they are still involved with intentions they set in motion previous to ours.

While waiting for everything to fall into place, it’s time to assess our lives and see the beauty around us.

One of my secrets to being happy is living by this mantra:

“Be grateful for what you have, while in pursuit of what you want!” Jim Rohn. PAK!

Allow me to share with you some of my goals, dreams, inspirations, and things that I am grateful for:

I want a…

Range Rover

Who does not want to drive (or be driven) in this beautiful beast of a truck??? Haha! While I’m waiting for Marc Soong to wrap this baby up for me (in white please) *wink, wink*, I am grateful for my 8-yr old 4×4 which has the best aircon and has never given me any headaches.

I want a…

Black and white modern house

This type of house will be a great canvas for all the homeware and furniture I’ve been collecting for years. For now, I am grateful for having a roof over my head and a happy and loving home that my family and I built.

I aspire to be like…

Jamie Oliver

Martha Stewart

Gwyneth Paltrow

They are the coolest people in my book because they created a lifestyle that is their own and shared it with the world. I am grateful that I’m taking steps in living a lifestyle that is my own.

I want to travel with my family to…

Japan

Spain

Italy

Sure it will be difficult to travel with two kids in tow, but it would be harder not to see the world. For now, I enjoy our weekend getaways and our trips to the park . I love playing with my kids and creating memories with them.

I want to make an impact in the world and help improve people’s lives just like…

Oprah Winfrey

For now, I want to be the best role model to my kids.

Always remember that our dreams/goals are worth whatever time it takes for us to achieve them.

Shoppingero/shoppingera, what are you grateful for and what goals/dreams are you pursuing?

  1. Thanks for sharing this, Jenni! It’s all quite inspiring–and so are you! I really think your website here is a better version of Goop–more realistic, more updated, too. 😉

I look up to all those people you mentioned. I know they didn’t get to where they are without a lot of hard work and sacrifice. The road to finding your dreams isn’t pretty; in fact, it can get rather hellish. Sometimes when I catch myself in a limbo of discontent, I shake myself up to face reality and find something to be thankful for. Gratitude, you could say, keeps me sane while aspiring for my dream house, dream car, dream job. 🙂

  2. Very inspiring and great post! And so in tune with what has been brewing in my mind and heart lately. I so glad I chanced upon it thanks to Martine (Dainty Mom) 🙂 Keep doing what you are doing Jenni!
