My blog is always Red Carpet ready!
Thank God it’s Monday because waking up extra early is expected. I tuned in at 7am to watch the live telecast of the 64th Primetime Emmy’s Award Red Carpet.
The fashion was all about colors, cut-outs and couture!
Can I just say, US-baedFilipino designers, Monique Lhuillier’s and Oliver Tolentino’s creations were on fire at the Emmy’s! They designed some of the hottest gowns on the Red Carpet! Mabuhay ang Pilipino!
Ladies, gentlemen, and gays, presenting… the Good, the Bad, and the “Geriatric”
The Good:
They understand the power of a gorgeous gown (or hiring the best stylist) that fits fabulously on their bodies. They are Read Carpet ready from head to toe.
Glamour girls
Stars shine bright in Hollywood!
Keith Urban & Nicole Kidman in Antonio Berardi and Fred Leighton. Another Red Carpet moment for Nicole! This woman can do no wrong! Love the aqua shimmering splendor and white combo!
Julianne Hough is a vision! The strapless sea foam green corset gown dusted in sequins by Georges Hobeika is glamour overload!
Spell hot? S-O-F-I-A-V-E-R-G-A-R-A! Can you believe that she’s 40 years old? The “Modern Family” actress wore a teal beaded gown by Zuhair Murad, which featured a reverse-halter neckline and open back. Caliente!
Modern Glamour. Lucy Liu in blinged out Versace!
Shine On! Kerry Washington looks spectacular in glittery cowl neck evening gown and Kotur clutch.
Sunny Style
Colorful characters need bold-hued couture
Julie Bowen in a show-stopping Monique Lhuillier lemon-lime gown and Swarovski clutch. This bold color is tricky on the Red Carpet but the classic silhouette of the gown and minimal accessories made it a winner! Yay, Monique and Julie!
At first, I wasn’t sure about Julianne Moore’s chartreuse long-sleeved Dior gown but… Minimal bling + Fiery red hair + Rouge lips = Stand out style!
“Homeland” star Claire Danes in strapless, draped Lanvin gown. This style and color brought out her preggy glow!
Ladies in Rouge
Red is the color of HOTNESS!
Kat Dennings is smouldering in J. Mendel gown! A fitted bustier is key.
Gretchen Mol in a red evening gown and fun multiple bow sandals.
The Classics
Simplicity is sexy
A class act. Jessica Pare in black and white custom Jason Wu.
From left: Kate Mara in a decadent lace dress and Kiernan Shipka looks like a modern day Audrey Hepburn in her white Zac Pozen cocktail dress and Daniel Swarovski evening bag
Embroidery Empresses
Nothing says luxe like hand-embroidered detail on lovely evening gowns!
Hot mama! Check out the embroidery detail on Brooke Burke Charvet’s cream chiffon gown! She’s also carrying a Swarovski clutch. Beautiful, Brooke!
Art Deco Decadence. Lily Rabe in Tadashi Shoji
Shape Shifters
Drop-dead gorgeous in body hugging gowns
Funny is sexy. Comedian Tina Fey of “30 Rock” gets more glamorous on the Red Carpet every year! Love the Vivienne Westwood strapless gown with Fred Leighton jewels on her.
Edie Falco sizzles in Stella McCartney! The hourglass effect it creates is kind of amazing although, Kate Winslet (Venice Film Festival) and Gwyneth Paltrow (Grammy’s) already wore this style. I wish she or her stylist chose a different gown.
Dangerous curves. Alex Breckenridge in Nikki Rich
Freshly Styled
Get a dose of color and style
From left: Padma Lakshmi and Ginifer Goodwin both in Monique Lhuillier; Cat Deeley in a dramatic gown
Dream Girls
Light, airy frocks made for the TV screen goddesses
From left: Amanda Peet in Calvin Klein; Zooey Deschanel in Reem Acra; Heidi Klum in Alexandre Vauthier Couture and Charlotte Olympia shoes
Ingenue style. Sarah Hyland in Marchesa
Graphic Nobel
Ready, lines… Cuts… Couture!
From left: January Jones in Zac Posen and Zosia Mamet
Prints Charming
Fascinating ladies wear fabulous prints
Ariel Winter in Katharine Kidd; Julianna Margulies in Giambattista Valli; Elisabeth Moss in Dolce & Gabbana
Enchanting Emerald
Be green, don’t envy
Shoutout to Filipino designer Oliver Tolentino! Maria Menounos and Melissa Rauch look fabulous in your creation! Bravo!
Melissa Rauch in Oliver Tolentino
Allison Williams in Oscar de la Renta
In Love with Indigo
Teal, blue, indigo, the color of the ocean makes waves on the Red Carpet!
From left: Hayden Panettiere in Marchesa; Maria Menounos in Oliver Tolentino and Casadei shoes; Jane Levy in Pamella Roland
The Bad:
WTF style
Oh gaaad! Phoebe Price, what the hell… Textured hair, textured gown, mismatch colorful accessories, kulang na lang banda… Hala bira na! Haha!
Ashley Judd’s 3 B’s: Bow, brooch, and bouffant. Meron pa palang isang “B”: BAKIT???
Sinong “Cruela De Vil” ang gumawa nito kay Glenn Close?
The “Geriatric”:
Fashion darling Iris Apfel who’s 88 years old calls herself a ‘geriatric starlet’, but her bigger-than-life style is anything but “old”.
So I don’t understand when stars choose outfits that make them look older than they really are.
Mayim Bialik’s baby face doesn’t go with her “loley” gown
Part of me kinda like this lace gown on Lena Dunham, but I can’t help but wonder if this Prada gown was the best choice for her, I mean, she looked like a spinster in it.
Lakas maka “loley” ng white hair ni Kelly Osbourne! Too bad because I love the lilia Zac Posen gown.
What happened to Portia de Rossi’s skin and style? Her nude jumpsuit number aged her so much plus, the slicked back dirty blonde hair is all wrong! Ellen DeGeneres on the other hand looks cool in navy tux.
The Suits
It’s skinny suits and textured tux for men on the Red Carpet
From left: Jim Parsons and Jesse Tyler Ferguson
Mario Lopez
Holy Reid Scott! HOT!
Big on Style
“Game of Thrones” Peter Dinklage & Erica Schmidt
And the Emmy’s goes to…
“Modern Family” took home awards in the Best Supporting Acting categories, Outstanding Comedy Series and Directing for a Comedy Series.
Well deserved win for the cast of “Modern Family”! The Eppersons love this show!
Shoppingera, which of these gowns is your favorite?
