Now that the kids are back in school, get to play by redecorating your crib. Conquer one area during one school day. Memorize these! Tried and tested one-liners that work well in Maison Epperson. Especially helpful if you’re living in compact places.

Maximize to minimize
This tactic never fails — display shoes and bags together with your books. Aside from an ultra modern chic appeal, the look also gives your space a homey oomph! Like what I always say, fashion has become home, home has become fashion!

Tip: Declutter your bookcases and organize them to create a stylish space for you and your family to enjoy!

Tip: Make sure to clean the shoes especially the sole before storing them together with your books. I use a rag doused in water with a drop or two of Lysol for cleaning.

Tip: Use evening clutches as part of a vignette at home. They are beautiful object d’arts!

I also make good use of my kids and husband’s artworks by filling up our walls with them. Definitely solves storage woes and highlights their creative talents.

Another bright idea: I created a mini library in our hallway. With the book-lined walls, space is maximized and books are organized.

Two birds with one stone
Multi-functional furniture is in!

Our coffee table doubles as an extra dining table – it’s a Japanese chabudai style table that is very versatile. Since it’s a longer-legged version of the chabudai, we have indoor picnics on it.

I also use my ‘Virginia’ Bar Carts from my collection with The Ramp Crossings as a tea trolley for afternoon teas with my daughter, a food trolley for entertaining and a side table for the living room and bedroom. The quality is both in its adaptability and in my time with my daughter.

One of my ‘Virginia’ Bar Carts is now displayed at the foyer of our apartment. It holds my husband and daughter’s amplifiers and doubles as a food trolley when we have guests.

Play and display: My husband and daughter are both musicians and storing their gear is a challenge. No storage? Display them!

White is might!
I have always said that white is the color of luxury because of its maintenance demanding feature but when it comes to interiors this time white is worth it! White gives an illusion of space and expansion. It creates a clean look as well as an elegant silhouette to any abode. Whether it’s a pillow, a couch, a curtain or an accent, white lends simple beauty in big or small spaces.

Open sesame!
This is an important tip! I use open racks in the kitchen to display and store my tableware collection. Not only do they showcase my collection but open racks also give that sense of ample space.

Floating shelves are great for displaying your collection.
