Tom and I always have conversations about hotels. We play out scenarios that if we were tourists or balikbayans traveling to the Philippines, knowing what we know and considering the length of stay and budget (not company expense), which hotel would we stay in? Almost every time, we would opt for boutique hotels.
Boutique hotels are quaint, cozy and and less expensive than 5 Star hotels. They also provide very personalized services and facilities. So if we were tourists or balikbayans who wanted to explore the city, shop in the malls and were on a budget but still wanted the luxury feel of a hotel, a quaint boutique hotel would be a good choice.
For my birthday, Tom and I were treated to a 3 days, 2 nights stay at Hotel Céleste courtesy of Ms. Celi Sarabia. I met Celi a long time ago and I bumped into her a few weeks ago during a jewelry event. She’s a very lovely woman: soft spoken, positive, funny and generous. When she found out about my birthday, she gifted me a stay in her boutique hotel. Thank you Celi! You’re so sweet!
Tom and I worked on my birthday last week. I didn’t mind because work is always a blessing. We squeezed in a lunch date while working then celebrated my birthday dinner with the kids at home.
Our weekend stay at the hotel couldn’t have come at a better time! Allow me to share our experience.
We’re ready for Hotel Céleste!!!
I’ve been at this hotel a few times for events. What I love about the lobby is the openness and the daylight pouring in. The place has a light, airy and welcoming feel.
I have to say that the staff are friendly, attentive and efficient.
We’re so happy to stay here! No kids, no helpers, just me and Mang Tomas. LOL
We were booked in one of the hotel’s many personalized suites. Our room was on the 3rd floor, room 307.
The hallway of the 3rd floor
This is it!
Well, hello gorgeous!
Ladies and gentlemen, presenting, our Victorian oasis for the weekend…
A huge day bed for TV watching and lounging
I’ve been in this room before many years ago for a photo shoot and I forgot how spacious this place was!
The ottoman was so lovely I told Tom not to touch it! Haha
A King size bed with luxurious beddings? Yes, please!
Beautiful daylight illuminates our suite!
We like kitchenettes inside hotel rooms. For tourists or balikbayans, having one will save money from eating out all the time.
The usual suspects
This is probably one of the biggest and cleanest boutique hotel bathrooms in the city!
I love the green hand-painted walls! This bathroom reminds me of one of my favorite Gwyneth Paltrow films ‘Great Expectations’ — all green and glamorous!
L’Occitane products, no less.
With a big shower head, it’s like playing in the rain!
The wi-fi in the room was fast! Tom and I got a bit of online work done very quickly so we had more time to lounge.
Someone took a nap. Ang bilis naman. Sobra bang relaxing?
While Tom had a nap, I explored Hotel Céleste’s newly renovated Bistro Cravings.
The interior is designed by my friend Nix Alanon. I love the chic contemporary style!
Again, the daylight complements the interior. I took a lot of photos and good for “selfie” shots — very photogenic! Hehe
My favorite spot
Let’s order!
Cravings also serves the hotel’s complementary breakfast for guests. They have a small buffet of pastries, assorted cereal, yogurt, juice and fresh fruits too.
Birthdays are wonderful! Thanks to the friendly staff of Cravings for the Tiramisu! So yummy!
Huli!
TOM!!!
Time to kick off my Loubis and just chillax…
Lights out…
Shh…
Tom and I had a grand time at Hotel Céleste! We contemplated on bringing the kids during the second night but I’m glad we didn’t. We stayed in the room 80% of the time just being together, talking, resting, watching films and savoring some peace and quiet. It was rejuvenating!
Hotel Céleste is a charming retreat for couples or a family staycation. It’s a convenient hotel to stay in for the business travelers who will be juggling appointments across Makati’s labyrinthine streets. Tourists and balikbayans will also get their money’s worth when they stay at this hotel.

Shoppingero/shoppingera, tune in on my next post of Hotel Céleste’s newest restaurant, Lucia Ristorante!

My boyfriend and I stayed there last May…beautiful hotel! We stayed at Room 305! Had the best view… My Brit boyfriend was impressed and even said he preferred staying there than in Shangri-la! I’m glad you featured the hotel Ms. Jenni! 🙂
