Something is Popping Up!

Dear friends, followers and blog readers,

I’ve been staring at my monitor wondering how to write about my collaborative project with The Ramp Crossings. I was sure it would be a breeze to blog about it as I’ve been working on my collection with The Ramp Crossings team for months! Yet here I am, typing on my keyboard, groping for the right words, trying to conjure the right feelings to come out and take over; however, the cursor on my monitor just keeps flashing… I’m stumped. I think I’m nervous.

I guess the best way to start is from the beginning. It all began with an idea that POPPED up in my mind… Suddenly, I heard a bottle of bubbly POP!

Ladies and gentlemen, presenting…

The Jenni Epperson Lifestyle Pop-Up Store with The Ramp Crossings

What is a pop-up store?

A pop-up store or flash retailing is a trend of opening short-term sales spaces.

I was inspired by New York’s Fashion Night Out — a shopping event where designers and other big retailers such as Missoni, Alice + Olivia, Target, Piperlime, etc. participated and set-up pop-up stores in The Big Apple during the height of the recession in 2009.

The pop-up store was designed by my friend, event/party stylist, Barbie Pardo. She managed to capture my style with such ease. She’s a genius! The graphics and logo were designed by my website designer, Mia de Lara. Mia has really helped me build the look of my brand from the moment we began working together. She’s one of the most wonderful and amazing persons I know! I love these girls!

When Crossings General Manager, Xandra Ramos-Padilla approached me last year to collaborate on a project, I knew I wanted to create something that was more than just fashion. I wanted a total lifestyle store whereby a marriage between fashion and lifestyle subsist since my life has evolved from just being a fashion stylist to being a mom and a wife.  To quote Vogue’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, “I’ve long believed that the eye runs naturally from the catwalk to the kitchen.”

My initial collection ‘Rise and Shine’ for The Ramp Crossings is for the definitive multi-tasking modern woman whose tasks and roles vary throughout the day so the line’s key pieces will have one greeting the day in tangerine tunic with gold coral embroidery to serving afternoon tea with the ladies from a gold lattice bar cart to seizing the night in knee-high sculptured heeless gladiators. Keeping everything transitional and multi-purpose were my key concerns, and this is reflected in the collection’s highlights which include reversible throw pillows, bar carts that can double as side tables or tea trolleys, pretty hand-painted trays that serve as table decorative piece and clothes that can take you from the city to seaside and even the club!

  1. So happy for you Ms. Jenni. Another milestone for you. Too bad I can’t attend your bonggang launching because I’m in overseas. But I will definitely visit your Lifestyle Pop-Up Store once I’m in Manila. More powers!
