I was invited last week to judge the first School of Fashion and Arts (SoFA) Young Designer Competition.
The competition was part of BAYO’s 20th anniversary celebration.
The event was in partnership with SoFA and co-presented by Kotex Luxe, the contest aims to promote young talents in the Philippine fashion scene.
Out of the seven finalists chosen from a pool of SoFA students, we chose Sylvia Park’s floral and lace-themed collection.
Aryanna: “Ooh… Tea party clothes!”
Me: “They’re not yet available. You have to wait for a few months.”
Aryanna: “What? They can’t do that!”
Me: “Take it up with Bayo.”
Aryanna: “Maybe I will.”
Me: “Call me… Maybe.”
Aryanna: *Pfft!*
The winner received P100,000 cash prize. Sylvia’s seven-piece collection will also be sold in Bayo outlets nationwide under the retailer’s young line “Love, Bayo” before the year ends.
Judges!
Congrats, Sylvia! My daughter Aryanna saw photos of your collection and she’s very excited to get her hands on them! Call her… Maybe… Sorry… That’s the last… Maybe.
