It’s been a while since I had time to relax and basically not do anything. I lav et!
I was just telling my husband that this is probably one of the best Christmas for our family. We have a lot to be thankful for:
We have our health.
We have a roof over our heads and a lovely and comfortable one at that.
We have another addition to the Epperson family!
We successfully finished all our project for the year… well, one last one in the works.
We have more money to spare for those who are in need.
And so many more, but I’m not sure if there’s enough space in my blog! LOL
I am also at a point in my life where I focus even more on the small joys I encounter everyday. I believe that the more grateful we are of the little things, the bigger the impact they make on our lives.
I’ve been lurking on Neil Pasricha’s blog 1000 Awesome Things for years now and hearing how the idea for the blog came out from a negative experience in his life makes all the little happy moments he’s shared even more inspirational. I love his blog!
I have his first book: “The Book of Awesome” and it’s one of my go-to feel good books. I recently bought his latest book, “The Book of (Holiday) Awesome” — perfect for the holidays! His books never fail to put a smile my face!
Inside Neil Pasricha’s book:
There’s nothing like the holidays. They bring out the best, and sometimes the worst, in everyone. Luckily, Neil Pasricha is here to remind us that not only are the holidays great but there’s actually even more to celebrate than we realize. From Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa to such holidays as Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, Thanksgiving, and beyond, The Book of (Holiday) Awesome will show you why holidays are . . . AWESOME!
• Plugging in the Christmas lights from last year and having them all work.
• When the in-laws leave.
• Successfully regifting a present to someone who actually wants it.
• Drinking with Grandma.
• Just barely wrapping a gift with that tiny scrap of leftover wrapping paper.
• Knowing Kwanzaa is worth more Scrabble points than Hanukkah or Christmas.
“Whatever our individual troubles and challenges may be, it’s important to pause every now and then to appreciate all that we have, on every level. We need to literally “count our blessings,” give thanks for them, allow ourselves to enjoy them, and relish the experience of prosperity we already have.” – Shakti Gawain
Shopingero/shoppingera, what are you grateful for?
