Just a quick update on our family room in Maison Epperson. Ever since we moved in to the new house, we’ve been watching movies and TV shows on the floor lying on a top of a banig, haha. My family and I have done a lot of window shopping for a new sofa.
I’ve always loved the idea of certain furniture that feel particularly luxe like a velvet sofa and white rug. However, they are not realistic for our lifestyle. Having two children, a cat and a new dog, it’s insane to even think about it. I want my family and friends to pile on the couch and be comfortable and not worry about accidentally spilling drinks or tracking in a bit of dirt when they enter. It’s not to say that we don’t have some nice things in Maison Epperson, but nothing’s too precious or irreplaceable that I’d be stress about if they were ruined.
That being said, we wanted a sofa that is comfortable, substantial in size and stylish. We finally found it at SM Home.
We got the “Sedge” L-shape Sofa.
The original color of the sectional sofa I saw in SM Home, Makati was in silver. I find the hue too light and I didn’t want the chaise part to be the on the left side when sitting down. Good thing SM Home offers choices of materials plus, they can also do minor adjustments with some of their sectionals.

Tah-dah!!!
I super love our new couch! I chose a blue velvety fabric and I had the chaise part of the sofa transferred to the right side. It only took 3 weeks to customize it. Awesome! The cushions are detachable and the seat covers are machine washable. Perfect for the family!
