My family and I love to cook at home. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen experimenting with different recipes and of course cooking, cooking our all-time favorites.
Although most of the time, we are rushing to prepare our meals because we’re all busy. That’s where our slow cooker comes to the rescue. You can dump all the ingredients in the Crock Pot, turn on the heat and leave it to cook. No stirring required!
Here’s one of our favorite slow cooker recipes:
BBQ Pork Ribs
Ingredients:
2 lbs. pork spareribs
salt
pepper
3/4 jar barbecue sauce (I like BBQ Hickory flavor)
1 onion, diced
Easy peasy:
Step 1: Don’t pre-heat the slow cooker.
Step 2: Dice up the onion, add to crock pot.
Step 3: Rub the ribs with salt and pepper, add to crock pot.
Step 4: Dump BBQ sauce on top.
Step 5: Cook on low setting for 6-7 hours or on high setting for 3-4 hours
Step 6: Try not to lift the lid too much.
(Optional) Step 7: For extra smokey taste, in a separate baking pan/sheet, transfer all the ribs on to the pan. Add the extra BBQ sauce on top (just a thin layer brushed on the ribs). Bake at 350 for 5-10 minutes.
Step 8: Prepare for a messy meal, the meat will fall off the bone!
No utensils required.
Our favorite sidings for barbeques is corn bread. It’s a Southern specialty that goes well with anything grilled.
Cornbread is also the perfect pairing for BBQ ribs as you can use it to soak up all the delicious sauce!
Easy peasy:
•Preheat oven to 400° F.
•Sift together the flour, cornmeal, baking powder and salt.
•Combine the half and half, eggs, fat, honey and sugar.
•Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ones and mix. The batter should be visibly lumpy — leave it that way! Do not overmix the batter.
•Once the liquid and dry ingredients have been combined, pour the mix into the paper cups in the muffin pan, 3/4 full, and bake the cornbread.
•Bake 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cornbread comes out clean and the edge of the bread starts to separate from the pan.
Tip: The fastest way to cook cornbread is by baking them in individual muffin pans rather one big pan.than
