As I’ve matured, I’ve learned the power of the simple joys of everyday living. Joy comes from the realization of how special the moment we’re experiencing is, such as waking up to the city’s cool weather or drinking tea alone or reading your favorite magazine. It’s about savoring the moment and enjoying it.
Excuse me for gushing but, I’m ecstatic that we’re experiencing cold temperature in Manila. It is the season of hot beverages, comfy sweaters/coats and some much-needed downtime after the holiday stress. Ang saraaaap!
I can’t help but notice too that some people are worried and stressed about the climate change. Here’s a recent conversation I had with another person:
Me: Don’t you just love the chilly climate we’re experiencing? Doesn’t it make you feel invigorated?
Girl: Well, wait for Summer! I’m worried that we might experience extreme heat too. I’m scared for the coming heatwave. It’s going to be worse!
Me: All the more we should savor the nice weather we’re having.
Girl: I’m just stressed about the coming Summer. It’s going to be hell!
Sobrang stress si ‘teh. Pwede ba nating i-enjoy ang malaming na panahon ng very, very light lang? Haha
I’m all for preparing for the change of climate but is it really necessary to stress about what hasn’t happened? I mean, how often do we experience the cool weather?

Allow me to share with you some of my simple joys this weekend:
The chilly weather lends to drinking more hot tea (and eating cookies/desserts too!)
Reading up on Spring fashion and not minding Dylan’s toys that are cluttering our coffee table. I’ve learned to let go and not mind the small stuff.
Plan a get-together/brunch/lunch/afternoon tea/dinner with friends and family.
Enjoy the weekend everyone!
Shoppingero/shoppingera, what are you grateful for today?
