In 1929 John Lewis’s founder, Spedan Lewis, had a vision of a ‘better way of doing business’ which rewarded employees for their contribution. He created the John Lewis Partnership, a company owned by its employees. Today all John Lewis employees, are called ‘Partners’ and receive a share of the profit made each year.

John Lewis has 44 stores in the UK including; 31 traditional department stores, 10 ‘John Lewis at Home’ stores and most recently, 2 small format stores in London Heathrow airport – Terminal 2 and London’s St Pancras train station.

I attended the launch of John Lewis in SM Makati last May and guess what caught my eye:

The style is reminiscent of the vintage enamelware, also called enameled ware, became popular in the 19th century, when manufacturers of kitchen staples such as pots and pans coated everything from heavy cast iron to lighter steel with enamel.

Full of refined heritage charm, it is crafted from classic porcelain in white with contrasting navy trim detail for a striking finish.
