As I mentioned before, I’m on a diet. Thanks to Dr. Aivee Aguilar-Teo’s weight-loss program eating less and healthy is tolerable and doable at the same time. I’ll blog about my diet treatment soon!
Since I cook, I personally prepare all my daily meals (you can view my meals everyday on Snapchat so follow me: jenniepperson). I’m not going for the extreme 500-calorie diet a day because I’m exercising so it’s basically healthy, low-calorie and smaller portion meals (approximately 1000-1200 calories per day) for me.
I’m all about easy, yummy and filling breakfast. I found this smoothie recipe from Dr. Oz’s 2-Week Rapid Weight-Loss Plan and I tweaked it a bit to my liking .
Breakfast Smoothie
Ingredients:
2 tbsp. or 1 scoop (I use the scoop that came with the powder) whey powder protein, unsweetened vanilla flavor
2 tbsp freshly ground flaxseeds
1 tbsp chia seeds
1/2 cup frozen berries (I used frozen blueberries)
1/2 frozen banana
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
3 ice cubes
1/2 cup cold water
Note: I added water and ice cubes to the recipe to thin it out and fill me up at the same time.
Easy peasy:
Step 1: Put all the ingredients in the blender
Tip: Add the protein powder and freshly ground flaxeeds last so they don’t get stuck in the bottom of the blender.
Step 2: Blend all ingredients together until you achieve the desired consistency.
Step 3: Pour the shake in a cute glass. 🙂
Step 4: Take a photo of your glorious shake and post it on Instagram. Tag me in your photo because you know it’s the right thing to do—haha!
I’ve been having this smoothie everyday for the last 5 days and I already feel light and healthy. My tummy has shrunk and I feel great! A tall glass keeps me full for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Try it!! So yummy!
Let me know what you think.

That looks really yummy. If only blueberries are cheap here in the Philippines, lol. 🙂

HI Gerry,
The smoothie tastes really yummy! I buy frozen blueberries, they’re as good as the fresh ones and more affordabletoo. I but them in packs at Rustan’s grocery and S&R. check them out!

May I ask where you bought your whey powder protein? Thanks!

Hi Rae,
I bought Whey Protein Powder in Healthy Options. It’s also available in other health food stores or in body building supplement shops.
Thanks so much!
Hi Ms. Jenni,
May I ask what brand of blender do you use? Thanks

Hi Kat,
We bought the Breville Die-Cast 3-Speed Hemisphere blender. It’s heavy-duty and great for smoothies and has a auto pulsing ice setting.
You can use any brand/kind of blender in making this smoothie.
Best,
Jenni
Any alternatives for the berries?
