“Morning People Are Happier”

I am totally a morning person. I love waking up early to watch the sunrise (or at least the sunlight that pours in the morning in Maison Epperson) with a cup of coffee in the kitchen filled with delicious smells of breakfast.

The sound of a freshly cracked egg hitting a hot frying pan is music to my ears.

Nothing beats the aroma of freshly ground coffee beans first thing in the morning!

Mornings FTW!

• It gives you a bit of extra time to enjoy personal rituals (that you actually enjoy) before the day begins.
• If you’re a creative type of person, the morning is such a wonderful time to get writing/blogging done. Sooo quiet.
• If you take a day off, you don’t spend half of it sleeping (or worst nursing a hangover, haha); you get up and take full advantage of your free time.
• Morning people are actually happier and more proactive than night owls. A study confirms it.
• You are constantly amazed by the end of the day at how much you got done.

Now, let me first say that if you are a night owl, and that works for you, I think that’s great. There’s no reason to change, especially if you’re happy with it. But for me, I refuse to start my day by jumping out of bed because I’m running late and rushing to get myself and the kids ready. There is no dignity in walking into work, looking rumpled and barely awake, grumpy and behind everyone else. Not a great start to your day. I mean, I’ve had my share of being late and it’s embarrassing. There is no better way to start off your day than to wake early, in my experience.

What do you like about waking up early?
