The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute ball is considered the premier New York City social event of the year. Fashion lovers anticipate the red carpet event. For the MET Gala 2015, Anna Wintour issued the dress code: “China: Through the Looking Glass.”

The Good:
Sarah Jessica Parker arrived on the arm of pal Andy Cohen. She wore a show-stopping Philip Treacy headpiece complete with long tassels, ribbony flames, and a load of red pom-poms and donned a dress she designed in collaboration with H&M Conscious. This attire proved that with the right (and big) accessory a simple black dress can be a red carpet winner!
Beyoncé in custom-made Givenchy. The gown is not China-themed but it’s definitely like “looking through the glass.” Props for a flawless body and “taras bulba” hair!
Gong Li in Roberto Cavalli. Love the rich marsala color and velvet material!
Wendi Murdoch in Oscar de la Renta and Kotur ‘Birdcage’ bag. Fiona Kotur’s bag is the best accessories for this event!
Liya Kebede in 3.1 Phillip Lim. So chic in white and I super like the mens-inspired ensemble.
Lizzy Caplan in Donna Karan Atelier. The perfect draping using silk fabric! Love the bun, the tassel earrings and the whole look!
Emily Ratajkowski. The floral embroider on white makes this outfit fresh and fab!
Georgia May Jagger rocked the oriental kimono! Check out her lace-up, pom-pom shoes!
Anne Hathaway in Ralph Lauren looks like a golden Buddah. It’s not easy to work with lamé fabric but Ralph Lauren’s craftsmanship is superior. So flawless!
Emma Roberts in Ralph Lauren. Emerald-colored gowns pop just pop in the red carpet. A dragon embroidered clutch can punctuate a monochromatic attire.
Janelle Monae kept it fresh and cool with this 3-piece oriental outfit complete with cape!
Karen Elson in Dolce & Gabbana is a golden goddess! It’s game over with Dolce & Gabbana’s intricate beading and bijou!
Karolina Kurkova in Tommy Hilfiger is my favorite! Models and mortals like us can wear this outfit.
Chloë Sevigny Chloë Sevigny in J. W. Anderson looks cool in deconstructed silk jacket and skirt!
Fan Bingbing wore an over-the-top, fully beaded and multicolored ensemble that spells oriental glamour!
Rita Ora in Tom Ford. Two words: Hot China
Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne. This is how men should dress when attending a themed gala.
Poppy Delevingne in Marchesa. I love the balance between feminine flowers and fiery red color of this gown!
Zhang Ziyi in a dress by Carolina Herrera and Carolina Herrera. Classic white never goes out of style.
Justin Bieber in Balmain. That dragon jacket is everything!
Hailey Baldwin in Topshop. Young, fresh and totally appropriate!
Jennifer Lopez in Versace. The epitome of a Dragon Lady!
Helen Mirren is the sexiest lola in the planet!! She represents hope and hotness for aging women! LOL
Miley Cyrus. The gown is not China-inspired but Miley’s damn hip bones make this outfit sizzle!
Cara Delevingne in Stella McCartney. A creative take on tattoos!
The Bad:
Some people didn’t get the memo
Solange in Giles. Alien theme ba?
Kerry Washington in Prada. Saan ang debut, teh?
Grimes. May nawawala poh.
Uhm. Lady Gaga, it’s China (not Japan): Through the looking glass. Cheogsam powh hindi kimono, hehe.
Thakoon Panichgul and Sienna Miller in Thakoon. Isa pa ‘to! Sienna, hindi matador ang theme!
The Omlette:
I can’t help it…
It didn’t take long for this elegant gown that quickly sent the internet into a fury because of it’s resemblance to an omelette.
Grabe naman!! Itlog talaga?!
The @thefatjewish (his feed is so funny!) uploaded this on his Instagram account. 😉
Nagutom ako, ha!
To be honest, for me, Rihanna killed it! She looks like an empress ready to conquer the world! The canary yellow robe by designer Gup Pei looked majestic on her!

Your website is too complicated. huhu.. I already took the survey and I don’t really want to subscribe to something I really don’t know what i’m subscribing for. Also, I like the old site better in terms of lay out, design and typography. I hope this is not the final, FINAL site.

Hi! I already signed up/subscribed, but I can’t log-in. I keep on getting the invalid e-mail prompt even if I already got an e-mail saying that the subscription was successful.
