The worst thing about buying expensive commodities with dreamy claims is that they don’t deliver their promise. I actually don’t mind purchasing luxury shampoos, conditioners and hair styling products as long as they help nourish my hair and I feel a big difference when it comes to the texture and smell of my tresses.
When the folks at Luxasia Philippines and Active Social, Phils. invited me to Aveda’s #StayAndPlay hair styling party in SM Makati I was psyched! I’ve known about the brand for a long time and I’ve seen their ads on international magazines and have read positive reviews from beauty bloggers and fans. I was keen on finding out what the hype was all about.
The event revolved around Aveda’s Styling Bar inside the Beauty Section of SM Makati where customers and guests were encouraged to try all their products. We got free consultation and hair styling with the help of experts.
My hair concern has always been my fine, limp hair. Naturally, I wanted to try Aveda’s Pure Abundance range.
Basement Salon’s Senior Stylist and hair expert Fendi Dudi showed me how to use the Aveda hair products and taught me how to create volume and style for my hair. He recommended that I use the Aveda’s Pure Abundance Shampoo and Conditioner to clean my hair. The next step was to spritz the Pure Abundance Hair Prep all over my hair and followed it up with the Pure Abundance Hair Potion. According to Fendi, these products create pockets of air that add volume to my hair. He then blow dried my hair and sprayed Pure Abundance Hair Spray for more volume and at the same time to hold my hair in place.
Ta-da!
I got some Aveda products during the event and I was excited to try them at home and style my hair on my own.
I used Aveda’s Pure Abundance Shampoo and Conditioner for a few days and I like how light and clean my hair feels. It doesn’t feel weighed down compared to some products I’ve tried before. It also has a botanical fresh scent that my husband likes.
I also used the Pure Abundance hair styling products and my favorite is the Hair Potion. It’s actually powdered salt that you put in your scalp and helps lift the hair from the roots. So instead of spraying the traditional salt spray for hair. I recommend this for those who have fine and/or thinning hair.
On days that I want sleek and smooth hair, I use Aveda’s Smooth Infusion line. I only tried it twice and I swear, my hair looks shinier and feels super soft with no added weight. No flyaways! Great for those with frizzy and dry hair too.
Aveda products come with a hefty price tag but from experience, a little goes a long way and they work beautifully. They feel clean and weightless on my hair. Totally worth it!
Consult, explore and play with the all organic Aveda products and achieve the hair that you want!
