Laking National

Me, my daughter, and pretty much the whole Philippines are “Laking National” (which loosely translates to growing up with National Book Store, which holds true for most people in my generation). Aminin!

Everyone shops at NBS, especially my daughter, Aryanna, who is a book worm. National Book Store is her second home.

Like many kids (and adults too), weekends are spent browsing and shopping for books and art supplies:

Not only that she get to buy all her books and art supplies, she has also met some amazing people through NBS.

She got invited by Xandra Ramos-Padilla of NBS to interview author, Lauren Kate:

This year, she finally got to meet  the founder and owner of National Book Store, “Nanay” Socorro Cancio-Ramos! She told me that she was “start struck” met “Nanay”! So kyoot!

Aryanna was very excited to meet the grande dame of National Bookstore “Nanay” Socorro Cancio-Ramos

  1. i’m Laking National too but I’ve also started to love Fully Booked though NBS prices are slightly lower (which we all love). I must have my Laking National card replaced soon. Their bags are quite sturdy too, used them a lot in the past.
