I believe that rebooting — rearranging and reaccessorizing — our space helps us avoid accumulation and stagnation.
When was the last time you freshened your décor? As we turn the corner on a new year, it’s time to edit and purge those furniture and home accessories that no longer fit our needs or mood.
I’m passionate about decorating our home. My family and I spend a lot of time in our apartment so we try to make our living space inspiring, organized and functional.
The holidays were all about festive colors, textures and decadence. It was fun while it lasted but now it’s time for a fresh look: White
In the mood. Add beauty and warmth to you home with beautiful floral arrangements. I personally like low maintenance house plants that last a long time. Having fresh blooms or potted plants at home could add a boost of energy and bring life to an area.
Candles are another mood booster. Choose scents that you and your family love.
God is in the details. Personalize your space with pieces that reflect your personality. Decorate with vases. They are fab accent pieces and hold fresh blooms! You can also fill them up with unique elements such as bamboo shoots or feathers. A clear vase could also be filled with colored water or decorative balls and use as centerpiece.
Art attack. Display art. One of my favorite art pieces is the Alessi ‘Niche’ Centerpiece Designed by Zaha Hadid. I like this sculpture as it is also functional — it holds assorted candies and nuts.
Walk on the wild side. Animal-inspired décor speak to me every time I go shopping. I have amassed quite a collection and they are scattered around Maison Epperson. I use them as bookends, decorative pieces and centerpiece.
Adopt an animal now!
Pillow talk. I can’t stress enough the power of decorative pillows in freshening the look of your living space. Throw pillows are great ways to bring in prints and the season’s colors without spending too much to stay stylish.
Fashion plate. I have a lot of tableware that I’ve collected throughout the years but my favorite is still our white fine bone china set. It’s our “everyday” plate and food always looks delectable on it. Classic never goes out of style.
Musical chairs. It’s amazing how furniture placement can transform a place. You even don’t have to buy new furnishings to renew your living spaces. Revamp your style by redefining the purpose of your favorite pieces example, make your side tables your new coffee tables (gives you enough room to move around). Use stools as side tables and your living room coffee table can be your new bedroom’s tea table or sell them if you don’t need it.
The beauty about living in a shoebox like we do is that it takes very little to change up the look of our place. You don’t need a lot of space to live a comfortable and stylish life, just keep your area clean and clutter-free. Inject your personality to your space. Don’t impress, express.
Live Style.
Shoppingero/shoppingera, it’s time for a fresh start!
