I Love WEARstler

If there is one interior designer who’s work I can relate to, it would have to be Kelly Wearstler.

Her first book, “Modern Glamour” was love at first sight. The first time I leafed through the pages, I had an epiphany: Someone out there loves animal figurines as much as I do! Haha!

I love her fearless style! It’s not for everyone but I like it!

I grew up in a family of antique dealers. Our ancestral home in Laguna were always filled with unique pieces beautifully arranged by my grandparents and mom. Furniture from all over the world were displayed throughout their home. Each of the pieces were carefully curated. As a child, my Lolo Eko and Lola Fe’s house was magical! I still remember, buyers from around the world would visit my grandparents’ house and wipe out their collection! And like magic, after a few weeks, the house would be filled again with more chairs, tables, ceramic animals, lamps, artworks, etc.

I also remember my lola and lolo’s prized Mustang sports car was parked inside their den and a billiard table greeted you at the foyer. Grabe lang sa drama! Their style was ahead of Kelly’s! Haha!

Kaya naman feel na feel ko ang mga draming ni lola Kelly! LOL

Her second book, “Domicilium Decoratus” is crazy… crazy, beautiful!

This is my favorite interior design book of all time!

Full of insanely gorgeous photography, Domicilium Decoratus celebrates the Beverly Hills estate designed by Wearstler in 2005. Each page delights with the exquisite details of each breathtaking part of the house, as well as featuring Wearstler herself in couture worthy fashions throughout the property.

Kelly Wearstler RTW collection is TDF! So is her home line!

Here are some of my favorites:

Striped bowl

Brass legs

Marble books

When Kelly Wearstler came out with her third book, “Hue”, at first, I thought it was “ew.” I didn’t like it. Maybe because I couldn’t relate to “colors”. Then, while browsing through her website, I saw this:

Limited edition “Hue”

I. Want. This. @.@

Handsigned copy of “Hue”

I ordered this through National Book Store. I’m not sure if they can get this for me but I’m keeping my legs crossed!

If you think understated is overrated, Kelly Wearstler is for you!
