What Filipino Noche Buena buffet is without Fiesta Ham and Queso de Bola?
I don’t know about you but for as much as I love ham, I can only eat a few slices and I’m good. Same with Queso de Bola, I don’t munch the whole cheese ball in one sitting. These two are common leftovers during Christmas.
Give that classic duo a makeover this holiday with my easy peasy recipe:
Fiesta Ham Spaghetti with Queso de Bola
Ingredients:
8-10 slices of Fiesta ham, cut into squares
1/4 cup Queso de Bola
1 big pack of Pinoy-style sweet spaghetti sauce
Spaghetti noodles
1 carrot, minced
1 tsp. ground pepper
pinch of cayenne pepper
My secret ingredient: minced fresh carrots
Whenever I cook tomato-based spagehetti sauce, I usually add minced carrots to add sweetness. It also gives the sauce texture and healthy too!
Tip: When opening the Fiesta ham, make sure to save the sauce. You’ll need it to glaze the ham.
Easy peasy:
Step 1: Slice the ham in big square pieces. Since the Fiesta Ham is already cooked, just heat it up and glaze it with it’s own juice (approximately 3-4 tbsp.)
Step 2: Add the sweet-style spaghetti sauce
Step 3: Add the minced carrots. Season with ground pepper and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Summer for 3-5 minutes.
In case some of you don’t know how to open a Queso de Bola, it’s easy, just cut it in half with a knife and peel the red paraffin wax.
Step 4: Grate the cheese.
Step 5: Add 2-3 tbsp of the grated Queso de Bola to the sauce and the rest for garnish.
Step 6: Serve with a smile:)
The smokey flavor of the ham and sharp cheese works well with the sweetness of the spaghetti sauce! Kids and adults will crave for this!
Now, you have no reason for leftover ham and cheese!
Happy holidays!

Hi! Would like to know the brand of pan are you using. Is it ceramic nonstick? Heard Teflon coating is toxic. Any idea what’s the best and safest nonstick pan? Thanks! 🙂
