I’ve been in a chillax mode lately that I almost forgot it’s awards season! I woke up exhilarated this morning when I saw the “#GoldenGlobe” hashtag on fire on Twitter and Instagram. There’s nothing like waking up to glamorous ballgowns and tuxes!
I’ve been glued to the tv since 7am and judging everyone on the Red Carpet, haha! Seriously, I live for fashion and fairy tales and nothing excites me more than seeing stars in fabulous outfits. Let’s get to it!!!
The Good
J. Lo is smoldering in chartreuse! Love the pop of rouge lips, retro hair-do and sparkly accessories. She never disappoints.
There must be a fashion feng shui for everyone named Jennifer. Jennifer Lawrence just killed it!! That cutouts and diamond collar neckpiece look smashing on her!
THIS. IS. 40. OMG! Kate Hudson in a midriff and long beaded combo! Flaunt is while you have it!
THIS. IS. 70!!! Helen Mirren is a rock star! This is what aging gracefully looks like. She’s hot and happening and will put any 20-year old starlet to shame.
Kirstin Dunst has always been one of my favorite actors and best-dressed celebrity in my books. I am so happy she’s also in ‘Fargo’ so it’s nice to see her walk the Red Carpet. I was so giddy! Love the long black gown! The back is as interesting as the front to.
According to Katy Perry, she wore the color of the year Rose Quartz for love. She also took out own “globes” to the carpet! Haha
Kate Winslet is stunning in blue!
Julienne Moore shines in beaded blue!
Gina Rodriguez’ gown in the Red Carpet was the first ones to explode on Instgram. The blue off-shoulder ball gown with skirt is dreamy! Beautiful and natural-looking hair and makeup too!
Jenna Dewan Tatum looks smashing in this deep-V gown (again with pockets)! It’s just the right amount of skin baring and sparkles for an elegant outfit for the awards.
Amy Schummer looks lovely in black and white. Finally, pockets in ballgowns are happening!
Zendaya is positively radiant in red! An appropriate and amazing gown for this young firecracker!
Alicia Vikander is truly deserving of her Vogue cover. Her sartorial choices are spot-on including this Louis Vuitton white gown! It’s backless and beautiful!
No explanation needed. Cate Blanchet is great!
Rooney Mara always looks elegant and edgy at the same time. Her nude-colored gown, braids and wine-colored lips exude originality and personal style.
Queen Latifa wore a mint green gorgeousness! Nothing beats great fit and color!
Louise Roe looks fun! Check out her sexy one-shoulder party outfit and fab fringe shoes!
According to Bryce Dallas, she got her gown in a department store because there’s limited options for someone who’s size 6. Good decision as she looks glamorous!
Rachel Bloom looks gorgeous in emerald green!
Carly Chaikin shines in this iridescent halter outfit! Love the light play!
say YELLOW to America Ferrera! Sfhe looks resh and fiery at the same time!
Emmy Rossum is adorable! A simple red gown punctuated by diamonds and her signature megawatt smile!
Golden girl Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is so sexy!
Laverne Cox is a vision in white!
Michaela Watkins in fabulous fuchsia! A classic serpentine and off-shoulder silhouette get updated with a hot pink hue.
Game over Eva Green! Haute, hot, hot!
Fashion experts say that peplum style tops and skirts are so over but Malin Akerman proved them wrong. She looks incredible in this lace peplum gown!
Brie Larson is a winner! That amazing body deserves an equally amazing dress!
Lily James is a true-to-life Cinderella in this frothy white gown! Perfect prom attire too!
Saoirse Ronan looks ethereal in white. Love the cut of this dress and the train!
Corrine Fox is killing it! Check out the fauna embroidery!!!
Kate Bosworth looks ravishing in this beautifully intricate beaded gown! Love the color on her. Her skin and makeup are goals!
Orange you glad it’s Amy Adams?
Kate Winslet always chooses the right gown. The halter style and short slit blue number is flattering.
The Bad
What is this sorcery, Lilliana Vazquez? The cut and style is as weird as your hairstyle. Insert the see no evil monkey emoji here.
It pains me to put Melissa McCarthy in the “bad” category because I adore her! Her hair and makeup look fabulous and the style of her gown is flattering but why use a lamé fabric? Sadly, the material on screen and in photos looks cheap.
Didn’t Natalie Dormer know that details are everything?!! Without that black beaded collar the gown would have looked amazing on her.
Too much gold and too much texture for me, Regina King. That chiffon white cape is also dragged your style down.
Desperate Eva is what I think of this overly embellished gown. With Eva Longoria’s petite frame, she should have chosen with a simpler and more elegant gown.
Hindi pa Halloween, Emila Clarke! LOL
Alam na kung saan napunta ang drapes ni lola! This gown definitely aged Maggie Gyllenhaal.
Tamron Hall couldn’t make her mind up whether to go sleeveless or not.
The Tuxes
Brad Goreski looking dapper in a classic tux.
Personal style trumps dress code. I love Alan Cumming’s blue and black tux! He also owned the high tops!
I adore Ross Mathews and his velvet blue green tux! Heeeey!
No words for Sam Heughan.
Mad about Michael Fassbender!
This is SPARTAAAAAAA! Ay, Gerard Butler pala! LOL
New heartthrob and red Carpet winner: Rami Malek. Watch out for him!!!
Looking good old sport! OMG!!! Leo DiCaprio just won and the whole world is praying for his Oscars!
Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Orlando Bloom. Take a bow, Legolas!
The “Rufflezzz”
Dear Jane Fonda, the 80’s called and they want their ruffles back!
My 5-year old son Dylan pretty much summed up her look:
Me: Dylan, what do you think this dress?
Dylan: Why is she wearing a skirt on her skirt on top?
Have a golden weekend everyone! Let me know what your favorite outfits are.
