When it comes to material things, I always play favorites!
1. Kate Spade New York Things We Love
I’m a huge Kate Spade fan. I love how she has redefined everyday glamour with her charming and whimsical style.
The book is a bit of inspiration, a bit of a diary and the journey from 4-person start up to becoming the global lifestyle brand we all love.
I dream of having my own brand to be as big and playful as Kate Spade’s. Hey, dreams are free so, I dream big!
2. Statice flowers
I love fresh flowers at home. Even if the weather turns gloomy, they somehow brighten our home.
Buying fresh flowers regularly can put a dent on the family budget especially if you choose blooms that wither quickly. I find that the key in having your flowers and decorating them too is to choose blooms that last long.
Statice also known as “everlasting flower” lasts a very long time. In fact, the ones I bought during my last trip to Dangwa flower market over a month ago still look fabulous! Some of the stems have turned brown but the color of the flowers have remained a vibrant violet hue. The best thing about it is that you don’t need to water them.
3. L’Occitane En Provence Shea Butter & Honey
The cool weather has not been forgiving to my dry skin. Times like this, I need a heavy cream/lotion that will keep my skin moisturized the whole day.
I’m loving L’Occitane’s new Shea Butter & Honey Trio: Honey Foaming Gel, Honey Hand Cream & Honey Whipped Body Cream
Shea butter is an exceptionally talented ingredient that nourishes the skin and protects it against all types of daily damages.
Honey softens and comforts even the most sensitive skin.
The Honey Whipped Body Cream is my ultimate favorite of the three! It’s a deliciously innovated treat from L’Occitane! Air has been incorporated into this delicate texture, making it reminiscent of chocolate mousses and whipped desserts we love as children.
As light as air and incredibly soft to the touch, it melts on to your skin. I can bathe in this creamy concoction!
4. Tom Ford Lipstick in “Wild Ginger”
Lipstick fans, listen up! If you’re looking for the perfect red-orange hue, Tom Ford lipstick in “Wild Ginger” is it!
It has a matte-like finish but moisturizes the skin. It glides smoothly when applied (although, I suggest using a lip brush). The texture and pigmentation make this lipstick better than my favorite YSL Rouge Pur Couture in “Le Orange”.
Sadly, Tom Ford makeup is not available in the Philippines. Boo. I ordered mine from my Hong Kong shopper Kristine Chan. Visit her site to put in orders.
5. Tea time = “Me” time
I’ve been spending more time by myself lately. No husband, no kids, no work, just me and my thoughts. I love it.
I could lock myself in the room and just chill out at home but, there is always a chance that my 3-year old son will be pounding on the door: “Mom, whatchu doing?” Haaay! Scratch that. I just go to a quiet cafe or to a hotel lounge and hangout for a few hours.
One of my favorites is Marriott Manila’s Executive Lounge. It’s only open to guests staying in Marriott Manila Hotel’s Executive Suites.
Whenever Tom and I stay at the Marriott, I always look forward to having tea by myself at their Executive Lounge.
