As some of you may know, Tea Time is a special moment for my daughter and me. We bond over tea and reconnect. We’ve pretty much gone to a lot of tea houses and hotels that serve high teas all over the metro so we were delighted that we found da•u•de, the newest tea lounge at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
Known for its custom teas, da•u•de (pronounced da you deh) has been in the business of making traditional wellness products with a chic, contemporary flavour since 2009.
da•u•de means the design markings on traditional garb of Ifugaos for tribe identification.
Say hello to da•u•de owner, Certified Tea Master™ and Couture Tea Blender™, Renee Sebastian!
Meet Renée Sebastian
She is probably the person most qualified to tell you how to steep, store, and serve tea as well as pair it with food on these islands. She is a Certified Tea Master™ in good standing with the American Tea Masters Association (so far, the only Filipino to have earned this honor) and maintains relationships with tea estates, masters and award-winning blenders worldwide.
She has apprenticed under other tea masters and champion tea blenders in China and North America. She continues to supplement her education with field training and educates Filipinos about tea culture through corporate wellness seminars as well as providing training to full time students at culinary colleges. Every year, she travels the world imbibing native cultures and exploring vast lands for rare tea ingredients.

Renée recommended that I should try the 2nd flush green tea or “Fatima Sola”. It’s a champion tea and is anti-cancer. All proceeds of this tea goes to Renée’s cancer foundation.
Tom wanted a stronger tea so Renée recommended the tea with coffee beans
Aryanna is a purist so she opted for her favorite camomile tea. According to her, it’s best camomile tea she’s had.
As if we did not order enough food, we had the guts to try the High Tea sampler. Kami na ang P.G.! Haha!
