Can You Believe I Used THIS Sauce For Veggies?? OMG!

Raise your hands if you’ve told yourself “I’m going to eat more vegetables.” but when it comes down to it, we fall short of our daily needs.

Let’s be honest, veggies can be boring but with a little creativity (and a special sauce), you’ll discover how good produce can taste and be well on your way to your health goals. Here’s a recipe that I’ve been obsessed with over the last few weeks and it has made me eat more greens plus, swak sa panlasang Pinoy!

Introducing… SATAY SITAW!

Satay Sitaw

Ingredients:

2 bunch of sitaw, cut 2 inches long
1 large onion, sliced
2-3 tbsp. satay sauce (store bought or homemade)
1  tbsp. extra virgin cooking oil
freshly ground pepper
chili garlic oil (optional)
freshly ground pepper
salt (optional, I skip it as the satay sauce I use is already quite salty)

Easy peasy:

Step 1: Heat up your oil in a deep sauté pan and add the chopped onions. Once the onion is translucent add in the sitaw.
Step 2: Toss the veggies for 2-3 minutes.
Step 3: Add the satay sauce and cook for 1-2 minutes. DO. NOT. OVERCOOK.
Step 4 (optional): Top with a teaspoon of chili garlic and serve with a smile 🙂

It’s been proven that eating plenty of veggies may help reduce the risk of many diseases, including heart disease, high blood pressure, and some cancers. Eating greens also help you feel healthy and energized.

This tastes so good! It’s like a quick and easy version of a vegetable kare-kare. I eat this on its own but obviously, you can pair it with rice.

What do you think of this recipe? Would you try it? If so, post a photo on Instagram and tag me and I’ll feature your dishes here! Comment down below. Thanks guyssss!

  1. Can’t wait to try both the recipe and the bottled satay sauce… somehow I’ve been hesitant to buy them hence I get disappointed with the taste. Best time to try it I guess will be now with this recipe. Thanks for posting!

      Hi Jai,

When you cook the satay sauce it brings out a more dynamic and delicious flavor as compared to just using it as a dip. Try it! Let me know how you like it. Thanks!
